Choices.

Today at work a woman came in with her two young children. She asked me if Stephenville had a food bank. I said yes, but it was only open on Friday morning. Pauline came over and the lady explained how she had just moved her from the Mainland. The job she had moved here for fell through.

It seems that in today’s society it is all too easy to fall through the cracks and each day those cracks get bigger. Some 43% of people live paycheck to paycheck. They miss one and the rent can’t be paid. Food can’t be bought. Lives can’t be lived.

A lot of people that come to the Thrift Store are looking for a good bargain. But some aren’t.

So while griping and whining about the high cost of tuition and having too many decisions to make, I had an “Ah hah” Oprah moment: At least I have choices.
