Dark Stanley.

As I was saying to a couple of people, Incubus' Dig and a clip from the Simpson's episode Yokel Chord seem vaguely similar. Maybe it's just me.

Watch both, the song is fantastic and the music/graphics for the Simpson's clip are wicked.

When I'm dying promise compliance and carry my body up over the fence.

I don't know why time insists on playing mind games.

When I lived in Iqaluit, the days were slow but the weeks went by with an almost psychedelic sort of speed. Now, here at MUN, the days race through but it's only our second week of classes.

I guess there isn't really any happy medium.

I'm so daunted by my workload already. Profs keep talking about keeping on top of the readings, but I don't see how it's possible. It took me an hour today to read one chapter for my Crim class. I'm suppose to have four (chapters) read by tomorrow.

Not to mention notes, reserved readings, online documents, Criminal Codes and novels.

I have a text and three novels to cover for my Sociology class alone.

It wasn't this hard last year. I found first year easier than High School because it was so general. But now. I whimper at the thought of completing multiple 15+ paged papers. Or trying to decipher words that I can't even pronounce.

I'm honestly just terrified of failing a class. I haven't so much as failed as quiz since being in MUN. I don't want to progress backwards.

I am staying in the POSC 3531 class though (aka course-of-death). Help me.

Chase the shadows away.

This weekend was completely unexpected. I have no other words to describe it.

Offering up a brief recap, Friday was spent at Meagan's new homestead. Walking in I expected friends and SASF-ers, what I got was strangers and confusion. It all worked out though and soon enough I was brought out of my surprise and brought into nice conversations and Buzz Light Year action figuring.

Saturday I did not move from bed until two. Yup. Two in the afternoon. It was a super nice day so Rob and I went downtown and played tourist. Fresh squeezed orange juice and candy owns. We tried to be cool and hit up mini-golf that night, but our absolute laziness overpowered us and we just stuck around his place. Foosball, si?

And then there was today. Today I tried to accomplish things. I did for the most part and was rewarded with a headache and a nap. Leah and I also decided to try out water aerobics at MUN's aquatic facilities. So glad we did. The time absolutely flew and it was tons of fun (I knew it would be good when the first song that played was Abba's Gimme Gimme Gimme). They have gained lifetime fans and we are promptly returning for another lesson tomorrow.

Which I guess leads to right now. I'm kind of chilling, trying to get my mind to understand that I don't have school tomorrow and it's okay. I do however have to track down the rest of the books I need, as well as decide if I'm going to drop the course-of-death.

This year is different. My little Stephenville family has disbanded to different parts of the island and the world. There is no McWhiteson home. I have a little Leah with me. I'm different too.

I've yet to decipher which parts of what are good and which are bad.

Lions for Scottie.

Couldn't help but notice (and be anything but shocked) that the free download this week on iTunes is Hey Rosetta! who hail from our very own St. John's.

Download and be a pal would ya? Show the rest of Canada we have more to show for than Great Big Sea. Next thing you know it will be our very own superhero.
