Sibling rivalry.

Today was a Friday, I’ve never appreciated a Friday more. Since tomorrow is Canada Day, the thrift store is closed on Monday. Sweet, long weekend. I need it, work is monotonous and demanding, two things I cannot stand.

We had another hustle and bustle day, and it was hot too so I wanted to kill myself. But the mantra I keep repeating to myself is “It’s not as bad as McDonald’s, it’s not as bad. . .” It works most of the time.

I realized today that it is thirtieth. Meaning? My brother is coming home in less than a week for a whole month. Oh my. This can either turn out very good or very bad. He gets on my nerves and makes me happy all at the same time. Plus we eat fast-food like three times a day when he’s home since he can’t get it up there. Last time he came home I gained eleven pounds.

I like him, he treats my mom really nice which is something I like. But most of the time he does this by making me look bad, he likes taking me down a peg. He will always be the smarter, more kind and more tolerable sibling. I will always be the less intelligent, unkind and intolerable one. I’ve grown to accept that. It still sucks to have it rubbed in my face.

Other than that, I like it when he comes home. He always ends up spending thousands of dollars on frivolous crap (something I like to watch and sometimes benefit from) just because he can buy it here and not back in Iqaluit. Plus we do bond and get along as long as one of the parents aren’t home.

Anyway, the point of this whole story is that my family will be in St. John’s for a week while he’s home. Aka, Sarah has a home free of worry. A week isn’t as long as I usually get for my “vacation” but I’ll make do.

So basically let’s do stuff, at my house. It’s fun here, we can have another kitchen party if anyone so desires.

In other news: I don’t want to go out tonight, I want to sleep. I have a feeling this will not happen for me. Leah, let’s get moving!

Jumbled words - Bdleumj dsowr.

So today was day four of making the all mighty dollar. It was “check day” and that made me a little sad. We did double the sales than on a regular day.

I like working there, but I am just so darn lazy. I’m all like “OMGSPLOSION STANDING UP FOR EIGHT HOURS IS THE SUXORS.” But whatever, oh yeah, Leah I didn’t visit you because it was raining, sorry.

Tonight Holly and I went for a walk/jog for me jog/run for her. It was a walk until we saw two fire trucks, a cop car and an ambulance in the distance. Then we went ghetto style and booted it back to the jeep. Turns out they were doing routine practices. Blast.

My aunt sent my mom and I a bunch of Word Jumbles so we have been doing them like mad, it’s nice to keep the brain stimulated through the summer.

Last night I had a very in depth conversation with someone. I didn’t think it would really go anywhere but I learned a lot about him. A lot about me too, things I didn’t want to become conscious of. Sucky.

I like when people open up though. It’s good to get it off your chest. I miss doing that. Man can I not be emo tonight? Holy crap. I’m going to bed.

Tomorrow is Friday! :O

Ex and why.

You know when you see people that you haven't seen in a long time, or someone you don't see very often, they always have the same comments. Example (since I know she won't mind) Holly always gets "Myyy, you take after your dad." She gets this astonishingly a lot since anyone who really knows her, knows that she is identical to her mom.

I always. Always. Get that frigging height comment. And most of the time I do not care. Like I really, honestly do not care. I am so good at tuning people out. You'd be surprised how often I am not listening to someone.

But. I cannot stand: "My, you're so tall! You get that from your dad.", "Oh, you get that height from your father for sure.", "Oh that is from Dave's side of the family." Do not pretend you know anything about anyone in my family, especially my father.

Today I went into Domino’s to pick up my order for Smith. One of the women who work there live up the road from me and I used to play with her son when we younger. When I told her Smith she looked at me with utter amazement. “You’re not Sarah?!” she says. “Yes,” I reply, “I live down the road.” “Oh my, you’ve grown so much! You’re certainly not short, you get that from your dad.”

Um excuse me? You’ve what, seen my dad like all of once as you drove by while he shoveled or something? You do not know where I get my genes from. And your hamster bit me when I was six you jerk.

I constantly fume when I get the old “Get it from papa” stuff. It’s just so. . . Mean. Now everyone is all WTF at this point because they have no idea what I’m talking about. But rest assured, I will not be attacking anyone with my colossal size just yet. One day maybe, but not today.

Happy thirty-five.

Happy birthday Matthew Good.

I still love you.

There's holes up in the sky
And no one's seen your son in days
And things just keep getting weirder and weirder
And now Christmas is for shopping
And the shopping god is everything
So roll over and lose it
'Cause power is just another one of those things where
It's pointless if you ain't gonna use it

..-......-.-.-...-----......-.-.-.--...---..---.-----..-.-.-.-

This is how I feel a lot of the time. Ticky-tack, always speaking in morse code.

Most revolutionary women.

Ever feel like some people are dragging the female sex down? Whether it’s a ditzy skank who doesn’t know two plus two. Or a self-righteous male who tries to take the women’s movement back a hundred years, things like this are everywhere.

That’s why I decided to share with you some of my favorite women. If you are unsure of their stories or want to reacquaint yourself with them, take a gander at their life.

Bridge of death.

I was informed recently that I have been lagging in my blogging lately. Seems the old nine to five is getting to me.

Tonight you’re in for a treat! I offer you:

Bridge of Death, Why Depressed People Choose to End Their Lives on the Happiest Bridge on Earth

The Golden Gate Bridge was once known for its picturesque appearance, it’s amazing length, and it was the epitome of San Francisco.

Now it is known for one thing: it’s the best, most captivating way to take one’s life. On average the Golden Gate helps take the life of one person every two weeks. There has been up to 1500 jumps to today’s date.

The 220 foot distance from the bridge to the water take approximately four seconds to cover from the time the jumper leaves the bridge to when they hit the water. This is at a rate of 120 km/h.

A few FUN facts:
As of this year, only 26 people have survived the jump.
Sarah Rutledge Birnbaum is the only one to have survived the jump twice (can you say omen from God much?).
The founder of Victoria’s Secret, Roy Raymond, jumped and died.

“Attempts to introduce a suicide barrier have been thwarted by engineering difficulties, high costs, and public opposition. The estimated cost of a barrier is between $15 and $20 million.”

Well isn’t that the suxors? Too bad for the depressed! We can’t afford to chalk up that wee bit to help save your life.

It’s been decided that “discouraging” suicides is best, Jump for Life is a program that was created last year. The program is designed to make the Golden Gate seem “a less attractive place to take one’s own life”. Does anyone else notice the absurdity that whole notion is spewing?! I cannot believe that nothing is being done.

Eric Steel made a documentary that will be out this year entitled “The Bridge”. It documents 19 people jumping their last jump (literally, he placed cameras on the bridge) and interviews with their families. Their families at the time of the interviews did not know that Steel had footage of their children/siblings/parents jumping. That would make a person feel dirty I would think.

I hope you find this as half as remarkable as I do. I seriously cannot believe that a place like that does not have barriers like the Eiffel Tower, Empire State Building and CN Tower have. I mean come on, do we have to reach a certain number before something is done? Sadly I think the answer’s yes.

Sarah Smith song.

This pretty much sums up why I love Jessica and think she's the best.

Day two.

Today was day two of my Thrift Store job. It's pretty darn boring, but things are supposed to be shaken up tomorrow, senior's checks are out. I bought a sweater, it's grey and pretty and only cost $1.25. I also bought my first belt. I've never owned a belt before, I like it a lot. This cost me 50 cents.

It's fun to find bagains. I understand why people like to come in and root through the stuff, it's almost therapeutic.

Tonight Holly and I went for a boot in her new car, I have pictures but my lazy ass is too tired to find the camera to load them up. I bought OrangePineapple Ice Cream, she had a scoop of both Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Peanut Butter Fudge Crunch. Ouch.

On an episode of Dead Like Me the, the woman who played Hetty King on Road to Avonlea (Jackie Burroughs) made a guest appearance. She said the word "cock sucker". I laughed a lot.

This was a really random post but I have a feeling most are going to be like that from now out if my exhaustion keeps up.

Don't take my picture down.

As promised "Where is Snow White?" pictures!

Holly and the Christmas Twins!

Mine, Daniel's and Sarah's love birds!

The cast!

Holly and Scott who is my new favorite person.

Emily and Sarahhhh!

Johnny and Holly and Jolly, The Christmas Twins!

Yay for the very last production I'll be in while in High School!

I'm new, ask me my name.

So today was the first shift as Salvation Army Stephenville Community Church Thrift Store Employee.

I was not at all nervous since it wasn’t going to be hard work and I was working with Pauline and Alice. We had a blast, they’re both nice and funny people. Alice’s daughter just got married so she was all “Wedding OMGSPLOSION.” But it was cute.

I knew it was going to be wild because when we opened the doors, there were six people waiting to get in.

I realized early on, while interaction with the customer is key, if you let them talk to you, they will talk forever. It’s kind of obscene.

Another thing I realized, there are amazing deals at the thrift store, like holy frickin cow. Here are some of the deals I came across today.

Bluenotes Jeans – Size 30, $2.50
AE Jeans - $2.50 SOLD!
Columbia Jacket - Size Small, $4
AE Polo – Men’s, Size Medium, $1.50
Silver Corduroy Jacket – Size Nine, $5

There are more but I can’t remember anything about them, just seeing them. The best part is, anything I see that I like I can just put it to the side to try on later. SWEET. I sold the AE jeans to Leah, whom I told about them while on my break (I can go over and visit her and eat her candy!)

Alice has the suckiest job ever, she has to unpack the bags and put the on hangers and sort them. Those bags are massively heavy, I can barely lift them. We must have got 25 bags of clothes today, and there are so many already back there.

Eight hours is so long, I cannot take it. But it’s a job, and I can sit down for a few minutes if I get tired. And I get two fifteen minute breaks and an hour one. Which is an hour and fifteen more minutes than I would have got at McDonald’s with the same shift.

Stages of grief.

What happens when one is faced with an aversion? A death, an illness, a seperation, a loss of something. You might ponder this for some time. Think it through. Decide what happens. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross happens.

In 1969 she wrote a book called On Death and Dying, in this book she listed the five stages of grief. Some say these stages are not detailed enough to be scientific reasoning. I think it's brilliant. I think a person could apply it to almost any situation and find it to be fitting.

The five stages are:
Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance

No this isn't happening to me. Why the hell is this happening to me. Please, I'll do anything. I can't possibly survive this. I'll get through. Maybe it takes time for these stages to take their course. Maybe some last longer than others.

I find it amazing that one person could have the know-how to label a feeling. Can we label happiness? Ecstasy? Amazement? We are able to explain the one feeling no one wants to feel. The one everyone must go through in their life, their penance for living.

No, I am not dying. Yes, this could be deemed as a morbid post. Look at it as an explanation.

Suicide by accessories.

I know everyone is probably gasping because I haven’t updated all day. But this has really been a fairly crappy twenty-four hours and I don’t really have anything to say.

Tonight was the Hedley concert; suddenly everyone became their fans and decided they just had to be there. I on the other hand, couldn’t care less, Holly had a half-priced ticket but I am just too tired to deal with any of that. I hope their fans have a good time though.

Today was the second showing of the play, aka the last one. It went well and everyone did a nice job, I fell in love with the French Horn Kid and Chatty. I’ll post a nice picture post later on.

Everyone was doing stuff tonight (even my mom) but I couldn’t find the energy to tag along. I should get some of those caffeine pills or something.

Tomorrow is my first day of work, oh frigging crap. I didn’t really realize how long a nine to five job is. My three hour shifts at McDonald’s pale in comparison. I hope I don’t hang myself with the tacky fifty cent belts. Ouch. That was bad, sorry.

Movies and Star Trek.

I stayed up at Cinderella's house last night, aka Holly. We watched some movies and sat on leather couches while speaking of nuclear physics.

We had rented The Family Stone and The Perfect Man, which was a fairly odd choice on both parts. The Family Stone was better than I thought it would be, the dying mother was a very nice touch. The Perfect Man on the other hand was crappy-crap-crap-crap, Hillary Duff I'm ashamed to call you Lizzie McGuire.

It was just a very random, relaxing night. No ranting was done and no lines were rehearsed.

Oh yeah, Holly, Sarah, Andrew and I went to Cast-Aways for supper. Holly paid for me, I had Motza Sticks and Curly Fries. It was cheesy, greasy and free, the best combo ever.

I would like to comment here on how everyone thinks I'm always exaggerating when it comes to Holly's messed-upness. This is not the case.

Moving on up.

The Corner Brook grad was yesterday, and sadly I couldn’t make it. I reallyyy wanted to go but it was just inconceivable. So of course one of my many minions went for me to capture the special moment.

I was told everyone was beautiful, and that everyone had a nice time. Meagan looked amazing, so I decided to post a little dedication to them. Congratulations on life moving to MUN.

Rehersal for life.

So yesterday I went to my first rehearsal for the play "Where is Snow White?" that I randomly got tossed into. I play 'Stretch' the adopted dwarf. It's all very awkward because the rest of the dwarves are kids and I'm all "Ughhh" especially since they know their lines and I don’t.

I think the play is really funny, but only because it ridiculously messed up. There are a lot of characters, maybe more than I have ever worked with. It was all very awkward yesterday because Andrew, Holly, and Sarah weren’t there (something I was counting on).

Most of the time was just sitting there listening to Annoying Kid tell Nicole’s little sister that “People had been smoking and not cigarettes.” I was wondering how she would respond because there were in fact some not so sober people there. She started freaking out at him! It was awesome, she was like “How could you say such a thing?! That’s not something to joke about!” It was wicked, she pwned him.

I hope I don’t mess up the three or four lines I have, how sad with that be. Holly owes me a big lunch, I’m thinking Cast-Aways after all this crap. :) It’s a good thing she’s loved.

Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh.

As promised, my critique of Angelina Jolie on AC360 being interviewed by Anderson himself. I'm just going to randomly, in no order, name off the things that stuck in my mind.

It's absolutely astonishing that a woman like Jolie has done/accomplished so much at such a young age. She is only 29! With three kids, a UN ambassador, multi-million dollar paychecks and Brad Pitt for a mate, she's obviously doing something right.

She was asked many questions from motherhood to Iraq to the situation in the Congo, and she had well thought answers for everything. Anderson was obviously impressed with her looks and mind.

She was asked “What is your view on the war in Iraq?” What a loaded question to ask any American these days. She started the sentence with something that me stop and think “It’s done. We’re there.” No one says that. No one says it’s done, not like that. I know that might make absolutely no sense to you, but it amazes me.

They spoke about the issues in the Congo, a subject that I find very frightening and yet I try to keep track of, on a weekly basis, what news is coming out of there. For those of you who don’t know, the Congo is basically gone insane. Child soldiers, food shortages, abductions and the influx of Rwandan refugees has been a bad combination for them.

She was also asked about “Making the choice to adopt.” Again she replied with something truly insightful “I’ve always known that my kids are around the world.” She shared that she plans to adopt another child soon and that it will not be her last. She wants lots of children.

Here are some random facts that I wrote down because I thought they were interesting:

  • There are 15 million refugees world wide.
  • A child is orphaned every 14 seconds.
  • Jolie pays for her own trips as a UN ambassador and donates 1/3 of her salary to charitable causes.
  • 100, 000 Ethipions die from HIV each year.
  • 1/4 kids die before the age of 5 in Niger.

The only problem I had was they showed the same clips of Jolie’s interview like a thousand times. It was weird.

It was a good show because they showed clips of Anderson in Niger, Rwanda and so on. Clips I obviously hadn’t seen since they aired back in the early nineties.

Camping a la mode.

Last night was. . . Messed. I cannot believe what a messed up night of camping we experienced. I've never laughed so much, ate so much potato, pee so much and freak out (in a good way) so much in my life.

While waiting for Joey and Matt to come in, Leah, Dave and I whittled sticks for hot dogs. They turned out awesome, as did everything we did last night.

First up on the docket, was of course eating. Joey did an amazing job of bbqing our food. Potatos and corn along with the meat of you choice turned out to be the best meal of our lives, we were so hungry.

Can you guess which piece of meat is mine? :P The steaks the guys had were huge, I could not even begin to eat a slab of meat the size of my face.

After supper, we realized that we had to get the dishes clean. So Mike, Matt, Leah and I gathered them up and brought them down to the lake! Leah ended up doing them all I think. So I took the time to video it.

We so just sat around and did nothing the whole entire night. Playing music and telling very bad jokes (I actually heard the same one Sarah (from CB) told me when she had come to visit me, about the worm in the apple. . .) turned out to be an awesome way to pass the time.

I actually got to play the guitar and learned a whole chord, "G". Joey awesomely made up songs including the one I believe was called 'Strippers and Hoes'.

Our sing-a-longs were pretty intense, you have to keep up with the pace or it's just mind boggling.

As the night paced on, we became less and less intelligent and began resorting to this to keep us entertained. To be honest, it was very fun.

So it's past midnight, and the whole crew is pretty sloppy. Dave is absolutely sloshed and we just cannot stop laughing at everyone. And then we hear it. Thunder.

We tried counting the thunder/lightning to see how far away it was. It was just there. Hah. We started freaking out, the guys we're trying to put the tarp over the tents and Leah and I were squealing.

We ended up just getting in Matt's Blazer and tried to ride it out a little. It was the most FUNNIEST thing in my life. Holy crap. We were all in there laughing and laughing, when I realized I didn't have my camera.

So Matt went out for me to look for it and came back unsuccessful. Then Mike went out and he too could not find it. Then I remembered it might be in my tent, so Dave went over to our site and sure enough it was there.

After it stopped raining we did a mass trip to the bathrooms to pee (I seriously peed like 7 times last night before I went to sleep).

When I came out of the outhouse, Joey and Leah were hiding in the trees to try and scare me. Joe started doing the "Ch ch ch ke ke ke" from those Jason movies. Me, being the smart person I am, thought he was doing the Terry Fox thing so I started singing the "Du du du du duuuu du" that goes with it.

We all got in one tent, but everyone was so loud that we dubbed Dave's flashlight "The Conch" and you couldn't speak unless you had it. Needless to say, that didn't work out.

I had a hard time being tired, so once it stopped raining Dave, Matt and I sat out at the fire for like another hour (some how it was still going?). It was settling for the most part, except for the minor disputes that Joey and Mike came out to break up for me.

After a while Dave and I got sleepy so we went to our site for sleeping. It didn't rain again, so it was a pretty decent night (with the exception of flies and park rangers). I had a frigging blast, it seemed like we were there for like a week. Good times all around.

Pay it forward.

There was a commercial on television last night that had me captivated. It started out with a man picking up a toy for a little kid in a stroller who had dropped it. The mom saw this and in turn helped a man in a coffee shop not spill his coffee. Then he did something nice and so on. This actually went on for at least a dozen people.

The whole idea of the “pay it forward” concept has amazed me. I try to apply it to my own life as much as I can. Sometimes it’s hard, but I am the kind of person who holds open doors, tell a cashier to have a nice day/evening, offer a smile to someone walking past me and so on.

I think if everyone applied that concept to their everyday lives with conscious effort, this place we call Earth would be far better.

So today, for me, apply the “pay it forward” concept. Who knows? Maybe it will come full turn and you’ll get that smile/kind gesture back. :)

Now, I am off to camp in the rain. This should be an experience.

P.S. I will update on Angelina and Anderson when I return tomorrow! It was interesting. . .

I walked around my good intentions, and found that there were none.

Wow, I just had a mini-heart attack thinking I had somehow missed Angelina Jolie on AC360. But she is on right now. :) I'm sure there will be a big blog post on it tomorrow.

This evening Holly and I went out for some good times. We drove around singing at the top of our lungs Our Lady Peace's, Clumsy album. It was really fun and we stopped to see if Andrew wanted to come but he was on his way to bed.

This is really random but other than a couple other songs by OLP, these are some of my favorite lyrics (song, 4am) written by them. I thought I would share. :)

I walked around my good intentions
And found that there were none
I blamed my father for the wasted years
We hardly talked
I never thought I would forget this hate
Then a phone call made me realize
I'm wrong

If I don't make it known that
I've loved you all along
Just like the sunny days that
We ignore because
We're all dumb & jaded
And I hope to God I figure out
What's wrong

I walked around my room
Not thinking
Just sinking in this box
I blame myself for being too much
Like somebody else
I never thought I would just
Bend this way
Then a phone call made me realize
I'm wrong

CB kids and S'ville gangstas unite.

Today was the magical day of my Corner Brook friends coming out to visit me! Sarah and Meagan made their way down for the day and it was jammed with fun stuff.

We first made our way to the yogurt factory. We just slowed down, and didn't get out (they were too excited for our next stop!).

Which would be. . . The prison! Yes, those are two prisoners watching us from the window. Yes, they watched us take pictures. Yes, the made sexual gestures at us when we waved.

Through out the day Sarah, Meagan and I kept coming up with great ideas. This was a combination of my knowing where the gulls hang out and Sarah having the $1.60 to spend on french fries. The story is narrated by Sarah.

We also did a little shopping at Riffs (Arlims, Party Time Sound and other Main Street businesses as well).

These are Meagan and Sarah's outfits they wear to be sexy.

We also took a trip to the beach! It was very windy and the ocean was absolutely green. Sarah claimed she saw jelly fish, but I'm sure it was just seaweed.

My David Bowie/Flock of Seagulls hair.

Sarah pulled a log out to be athletic (since she was missing her sport's day to be here). If you'd like to see more click here.

I also took them to see the horsey on dump road, it was not there again! But Sarah was impressed enough by the sign that said "BULL".

All in all, it was a wonderful day. We did so much stuff I can't even remember half of it. I'd like to thank Meagan and Sarah for coming out (especially since Meagan's grad is tomorrow). I had fun buying holographic guitar picks, legal pads and car action figures with you.

The missing are found.

We've struck gold again in Iraq! Congratulations Mr. President, not only have you seen to it that two of your men died, they were captured and tortured first!

"Two U.S. soldiers missing since last week have been found dead, the Iraqi Defense Ministry announced Tuesday."

They are 23 and 25. The one to your left, Kristian Menchaca, is married. The one on your right, Thomas Tucker, recently left a message on his mom's answering machine saying to be proud of him for serving his country.

When is it serving your country, and when is it serving the obscure views of a possible dictator? And I know you're thinking "Oh, she is crazy. Bush is doing the best he can, you don't know what you're talking about." You obviously had one too many froot-loops for breakfast.

Another man present in the attack was killed. He is 25 and leaves behind a wife and three kids.

My brother is 26, if we lived America, would he be fighting? Would he be making my mom proud? The whole idea of this war still existing makes me nauseous. As someone who I can't remember once said "You can bomb the world to pieces, but you can't bomb it to peace."

Camp fire's burning.

Tonight Holly had a small gathering at her house for a dainty fire. When I first arrived, I was greeted by Holly's warm smile and generous nature. Not. But oh well.

It was a good evening of chocolate chip s'mores, $5 pizza and loving chatter. It was nice to just sit around and not have to worry for awhile, we all needed that I think.

Even though Kylie looks like a bitch and Andrew is snapping his fingers (or possibly having a conversation with his hand), I still like this picture.

Holly had fun burning her chem papers (I'll be saving mine for camping!) and Heather had fun looking like a tomato. She likes donkeys (or maybe asses?). For the record I don't like this picture, it's too unHolly.

Through out the night I might have tried four dozen times to capture a picture of Andrew's smile. This is the only one I got.

So while tonight was filled with some of my favorite Stephenville people, tomorrow is sure to be a good time with the Corner Brook crew! I am very excited to see the ladies, and I'm sure I'll have a big picture post afterwards.

Tomorrow is orientation for the new job as well. :0

Play on words.

This has no relevance to anything. It's not even that funny. But by doing this, I am closer to both Anderson and Raymi.

Sarah says:
so are you going to talk?
Sarah says:
or are we just going to sit here calmly
Josh says:
sorry, I just had to answer the phone
Josh says:
writing a message for my parents, just so you know and don't go on a holocoust rampage
Sarah says:
who's going on a rampage?
Sarah says:
me?
Sarah says:
your parents?
Josh says:
I know "holocoust rampage" doesn't make sense
Sarah says:
are you on special-k?
Josh says:
the specialest
Sarah says:
no, but Jewish ppl still hate you
Sarah says:
haha
Josh says:
:(
Sarah says:
well you can't just throw around that word and expect no consequences from the Jewish community
Sarah says:
they're all like "bam, get that josh guy"
Josh says:
yeah, I understand, but you would think they would be a bit reasonable ... they don't want to start another one, do they?
Sarah says:
i'm pretty sure they didn't start the last one josh
Sarah says:
don't you have a history exam tomorrow?
Sarah says:
fascist!
Josh says:
hahah, I am the "Art Nazi" after all
Sarah says:
anywho, venturing out of ww2 for the moment. what are your thoughts on WMD's and cheese?
Josh says:
WMDs we need more of, and Cheese is the bomb (punny)
Now, if we could somehow work Cheese into a Nuclear Bomb, the bad and good would neutralize each-other. You could drop that on ANY city, blow it to crap, and people would be all "Aaw!" but then they'd be like "Hey! Cheese!"
Josh says:
You could tactically take out anything you want, and still people would be happy
Sarah says:
"WMDs we need more of", what is your reasoning behind this?
Josh says:
Well, the first reason is because it throws people waaay-off into argue-land most of the time, which is funny sometimes,
Second reason is because Canada has none. I believe in Nuclear Deterrence, and if we got none, it's difficult to give people a reason not to bomb us. Now, luckily we're in a position where everyone's like "Hey Canada, wanna go hang out?" but if that ever changes...
Josh says:
we'll be in trouble
Sarah says:
"and if we got none, it's difficult to give people a reason not to bomb us", that didn't really work for Iraq
Josh says:
sorry, I'm having trouble understanding: are you:
A) saying that Iraq had them and got bombed anyways
B) saying that Iraq didn't have them but got bombed anyways
Sarah says:
i misunderstood what you said
Sarah says:
new topic
Sarah says:
what is up with the english language?
Sarah says:
meat, meet? knew, new? through, threw?
Josh says:
hahah
Sarah says:
i just don't get it
Josh says:
know kidding
Josh says:

Okay, so the last couple of lines were not actually present in the conversation. But you thought they were didn't you? DIDN'T YOU?!

Fun in the sun.

Today was a pretty random day, random days really confuse me and make me tired. But it was a good random day.

I woke up late and hot, because it was a million degrees out. I went online and Leah messaged me so that reminded me of pie, which reminded me of puppies, which then reminded me of the beach! We decided that the beach was the best out of the three and that we would wait for Mike and Dave to get out of their exam to come with us.

It was an adventure to say the least, Dave (of course) brought his guitar. Mike threw rocks at Leah and tried to catch a tricky butterfly and Leah and I tried to not be so pasty. She also fell in love with my Audrey's. :)

Leah asked me to post this picture, she's trying to be more like Raymi. I am proud of her (in a sick I-love-Raymi kind of way). We also saw this on her towel.

This afternoon I did a lot of running around, including my job interview at the thrift store. I was nervous and very sweaty, I also said the word urine.

I still got the job. :)

Anderson Cooperisms.

Tonight I was bored, I had planned to go to bed early because of my job interview tomorrow, but the time got changed to the afternoon. So what do I do? I pick some object of my affection (whether that be person, place or thing) and learn more about it.

Tonight it was my true love, Anderson. I decided to YouTube him and look for clips I haven’t seen before.

I watched some pretty funny stuff, this was a truly funny one though. I really love him, he’s so talented and just so personable. Ugh, I’m one of those semi-fanatical people.

Watching his show every night, I had become jealous of Erica Hill. They shamelessly flirt with each other and I’m all “Oh no you didn’t just say that to Anderson.” So I decided to Wikipedia her out. She’s married. :) But she was also voted #35 on People’s 100 most beautiful people.

Make sure to check out AC360 on Tuesday night. He has Angelina Jolie on and they are actually going to talk about real things, like her involvement with the UN and stuff. Not just B-Rad.

Goodbye to you.

Tonight at church we had our going-away party for Captain Darlene and Major Jim. Driving there I put in my Starfield CD and thought about how this is probably going to be the last time I ever see them. Needless to say the emotionless Sarah became emotional behind her Audrey-inspired sunglasses.

I have no one word to describe them. I know I love them like no other pastor that has come through the Salvation Army Stephenville Community Church. Heck, I haven't even liked half of them.

Jamelia and Ryan (their children) have literally grown up in our church. When they came Ryan was 8 months and Jamelia 2 and a half. Now they are 6 and 9, it's crazy. I remember them learning to talk, Ryan walking in church for the first time. Seeing them both graduate from kindergarten, it's all so obscure.

Darlene and Jim are amazing people. She is the most loving, caring and giving person you will ever meet. She can sing the socks off Josh Groban, and can make you giggle in an instant. She can raise a family, minister to a church and help anyone who needs it all in the same twenty-four hours. He is sometimes hard to get along with, we've never once truly seen eye-to-eye. But he knows the answer to any question I have about faith or religion. He knows how to pray for me when I need him to. He can make me question myself, make me open up in a way I never have. He can make me steal his car and hide it in the woods.

The essence of who they are was present when I asked them if I could get a quick picture with them. I just sidled my way next to Mrs. Captain, because there were a good hundred people waiting to say goodbye. My mom was just about to snap it fast when Major said "Wait." He grabbed my arm and put me between the two of them so that they were surrounding me. "There," he said "Perfect."

I will miss them, and I know I won't be the only one. To say we love them, the church got them an Odelle original (Robert I believe, is actually the son she has painted here). It was special for me that we got them a painting done by Odelle, I'm not sure why though. Maybe because I know Robert (Sandy and Odelle too) love Major and Captain too, he knows what good people they are.

Today was a reason to celebrate in my church as well. They announced that they have gotten word from the "Big Guys" and our church will be started in August. By then we'll have new pastors, I'll probably be gone and nothing will ever be the same again.

The next time I come back to S'ville to go to church, I won't know where the bathroom is. I won't know where the band meets to pray before chruch starts. I won't even know if we'll still have a band. That breaks my heart.

So this post is a tribute to not only the Captain's, but to everyone that has passed through my life in that church and moved on. Jamelia, Ryan, Wayne, Gerri, Red, Gladys, Verlie, Tony, Debbie, Megan, Beckie, Sarah, Adam, Peter, Deborah, Evangeline, Raymond, Andrew, Stephanie, Heidi, April, Ashlee and so many more.
