I wish you could come to my birthday party because it's going to be off the hizzle. But I understand that drama comes before Sarah. Wait. No I don't. GET OUT HERE.

Love,
Schmitty

P.S. I dyed my hair dark bronze-brown.

The quiet world.

In an effort to get people to look
into each other's eyes more,
and also to appease the mutes,
the government has decided
to allot each person exactly a hundred
and sixty-seven words, per day.

When the phone rings, I put it to my ear
without saying hello. In the restaurant
I point at chicken noodle soup.
I am adjusting well to the new way.

Late at night, I call my long distance lover,
proudly say I only used fifty-nine today.
I saved the rest for you.

When she doesn't respond,
I know she's used up all her words,
so I slowly whisper I love you
thirty-two and a third times.
After that, we just sit on the line
and listen to each other breathe.

Stayed up a little longer to talk about junior high, bras, and boogers.

I have been reminiscing SO BAD lately. Like hashing out all these old school stories with every friend ever and digging up the pictures that go with them.

This is still one of my favourite photos of all time (taken July '06). My best friend is 4'10" and I am 6'0", yes, DEAL WITH IT. WE ARE NEITHER CHILD NOR MAN.
Man, you look haggard, Holly. And my hair was frigging long.

I love how there are only two people in this world who know why this advertisement is so spectacular.
And look at how young Robert looks in this picture! Stickin' it to the man. I believe Winston Churchill.

Sarah's amazin'.

Sappiest post ever.

I know how Robyn McHugh and I became friends.

My very first semester of university Robyn, Meagan and I were inseparable. We hung out like three or four times a week and I lived at their home always. Not a single moment of those four months did I take our friendships for granted. The three of us made a family.

But second semester I became extremely depressed. Looking back it’s a wonder I kept any of my friends because I ignored and hated on every single person I held dear in my heart. I then ran away from St. John’s (my bitter enemy) and tried to find myself again in Iqaluit.

Because of these drastic changes some of my relationships suffered. Some of them are still suffering. But I did come back from the Arctic a changed person and I was looking for [friend] love again. Problem was it wasn’t looking for me. Holly was gone. David was gone. Robert was in love. Meagan had found Allison. And I was alone.

But there was a girl. And there was a Buzz Light Year doll. And even though I had spent the past eight months ignoring her (as well as everyone else), we befriended one another once again.

Maybe it was easy for Robyn to do this – we had only known each other a year at this point and had no past history to go on. Or maybe, as I believe, Robyn is the sort of person who only comes around once in a blue moon. And when she reached out to me with that life preserving Buzz Light Year doll, I grabbed it for all it was worth.

That was a year ago. Somehow Robyn and I have only known each other for two years. I don’t see how that’s possible seeing as we’ve manage to cram two lifetimes into this small span of time.

Where am I going with this?

When Robyn and I first fell in love, nobody really understood it. I got a lot of “it’s so weird that you guys have become so close” and a shitload of confused looks. So now you get it: Robyn saved my life.

Today is Robyn’s 20th birthday. This will be the third birthday we have spent together, and seeing as she has only had twenty, that’s pretty cool.

So I have written this ridiculously sappy post in honour of this momentous occasion, and I hope you all join in when I wish Robyn THE HAPPIEST MOST AMAZING BIRTHDAY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD.

<3<4<5 always.
