It makes no difference.

You likes new? You likes old? Should I go back to the drawing board?

Is the new one too cliched? Should I draw one by hand like the old one? Is photoshopping cool with all you cats?

If you have any opinions on the new header I'd like to hear them. :)

I fall asleep in hospital parking lots.

I finally got up the gumption to dye my hair back to brown. Most often I am a summer blonde, autumn brunette. But this year I have been CLINGING to summer, because I depressingly squandered mine away. I don't think there is anyone who lives here who would confuse January as a summer month. SUCK IT UP, MY DEAR.

I am now toying with the idea of taking the scissors to it. When looking at these pictures I was shocked to see how long it has gotten! I'm thinking tons of layers and just a general BIGNESS. Not high school mall kid or anything, just less sleek and more fun. Or maybe not, I don't know. My hair is never something I can definitively decide upon (as is evident by the number of hair polls this blog has seen since it began).

And something cute I found on some random crafter's blog. How to feel miserable as an artist:
1. Constantly compare yourself to other artists.
2. Talk to your family about what you do and expect them to cheer you on.
3. Base your success of your entire career on one project.
4. Stick with what you know.
5. Undervalue your expertise.
6. Let money dictate what you do.
7. Bow to societal pressures.
8. Only do work that your family would love.
9. Do whatever the client/customer/gallery owner/patron/investor asks.
10. Set unachievable overwhelming goals to be accomplished by tomorrow.

Traipsed across the continent.

I had a major meltdown on Friday. And that would be all day Friday, started the day in tears and finished it sniffling and puffy eyed. I took procrastination to a whole new level and left my ENTIRE distance course studying until the day before the midterm. I had close to a hundred pages of notes and nine chapters of text to know for my Saturday morning exam.

I missed Robyn's birthday party and that sucks cause her shindigs always make me lol to the max. You know mine and Robyn's love tale, but since I didn't get to tell her in person I'll say it on here: happy birthday, Ro-yn Mchizzle! It looks like I missed a slammin' good time, jeez, just check out this cake. I'm sad to have not gotten a piece!

I have another midterm on Monday which I'm not nearly as worried about. It's with Professor YouTube, aka the I'M A TRAINED STAGE ACTRESS CAN'T YOU TELL prof from last semester. Nothing from the textbook because girl didn't order enough for the bookstore so no one could read it. Yup, she's still a flake.

Alex and I found this website and have been doing some of the assignments from it when the mood strikes. Yesterday, while it snowed, we ventured out to make a field guide of our yard. Called it quits after a few pictures though because we both agreed that we were probably freaking out the lady downstairs.

P.S. It's my birthday on Saturday! So don't make any Halloween plans because everyone is invited to Salisbury to help me greet a new year, 21 peeps!

Thirteen things.

1. An ice cream spoon, completely bent out of shape.
2. A picture I drew of Sierra, she was looking a little thirsty.
3. An issue of The Scope that Robyn wrapped my Christmas present in, a work of art.
4. My scrapbooks, keeping my memories in style.
5. Clip Clop, banished from my bed because of the heat.
6. My pony collection, because yes, I really like ponies.
7. Nanala, who watches over me.
8. The empty space, where Century Sam's painting should be hanging (but is too heavy to hang).
9a/9b. My Holly pictures, because little people deserve pictures too.
10. The button accordion, diatonic and one rowed so it's impossible to master.
11. A love note from Alex, complete with pictures of wrestlers.
12. Tylenol, aka a nanny's TicTacs.
13. Several empty cans of Diet Coke, I have an addiction.

My room says a lot.

Sanity map.

Sierra and I decided to map out our progress into cracked-off land. Where are you?

People will say all kinds of things.

Dearest friends how I've enjoyed your company this weekend!

Last weekend was such a bust (slept it away and away) so this weekend I made a point to invite everyone to the Merrymeeting residence.

Robyn and I have done so many craft nights together and decided to hold a special one Friday for the opening of our true love, Red Velvet Art. This was the first craft night open to the public and it was a smashing success!

I have been so creative lately that it is almost painful to watch the accumulation of STUFF happening in my room. Merrymeeting scrapbook is going strong. Knitting occurs frequently. Drawing in my HI book and Robyn's pretty pink book happens almost every night. And now I've taken it upon myself to start The Sew again.

The Sew is when I crack out the sewing machine (circa Christmas 2000), buy some fantastic fabric from the $1.97 bin at Wal-Mart, and decide upon a garment (or bedding!) that needs to be made.

I have taken it upon myself this time to fashion two skirts (one for Sierra and I) out of $16 in fabric. CAN I DO IT? Probably not, but it is always fun to try. Plus I'd like to try this and this pattern.

I have just a couple hours of awake time left before I am forced to sleep and then start the week again. But I am armed for the onslaught of tiny fists: heart-shaped suckers and Kinder Eggs. Best nanny EVER.

See you all again next weekend, okay?

Take a sad song and make it better.

Now that the election is over a lot of people are still looking at Stephane Dion. Not to be leader of this country. Not even to be leader of his party.

Its been questioned over the past few months if Dion will resign as leader of the Liberal party without ever being elected. Let me just say that this would be VERY abnormal. Actually it has only happened once before, back in 1887 (did you learn about that in Marland's class yet, Dave and Leah?! See his teachings ARE relevant!).

But now the question has turned from if to when. If Dion doesn't step down, he'll probably get the boot during the Liberal's convention. Which really saddens me. The dude is too awesome for those conniving politicians.

And he deserves some respect. Its so Paul Martin-esque of these people to be chasing at the guy's coattails already. CUT HIM SOME SLACK, HIS DOG IS NAMED KYOTO FOR GOODNESS SAKE.

So who's it going to be: Bob Rae or Michael Ignatieff? Ignatieff writes kick ass books but hasn't lived in Canada for the past like thirty years. Bob Rae swam naked with Rick Mercer on national television but is a former NDP-er. Oh, the choices!

Are you sick of me talking about politics yet?

P.S. I totally created that Stephane. I AM SO MANY KINDS OF NERD IN ONE AMAZONIAN SIZED PACKAGE.

Environmentally friendly knit.

Yesterday I went to Wal-Mart with my Mom. I can only handle that store when I have a list, nothing irks me more than browsing through The Wal Marts. On my list yesterday was "bacon" and "multi-coloured yarn". I was really tempted to just drop my list on the ground so someone else could find it and be all who is this amazing carnivorous knitter?!

I resisted.

So I got to the yarn section and started searching. I had no idea what colours I was looking for, only that I wanted one with at least two shades. I searched to no avail, until I noticed up on the tops of the shelves (where they keep these weird milk-crate things filled with extra balls) a striking colour pattern.

So of course using my go-go-Gadget arms I reach up and fling it down. And not only is it the most beautiful colour combo ever (gold, navy and violet), but it is eco-friendly wool! I knew automatically it was going to be a ridiculous amount of money but I did not even care because it was perfect.

Anyway, I didn't realize until I got out of there that it was only $2.75 a ball! Which is like the cheapest ball of wool I ever purchased, so I'm hoping when I go back there will be more for me to purchase. I'm thinking of mastering the mitten. Or the toque, I haven't decided yet.

The moral of this story is that I've started a new scarf and it's beautiful and eco-friendly (made in Canada wool too!) and will only cost me $2.75. You should all get on the knitting band wagon.

Let's drink to the military.

Recognize those two?

First day of holidays! YEEHAW. I slept. And crafted. And watched Weeds. And crafted. And ate. And slept. Mmm, sure sounds like holidays.

They called me into to work this morning, and I was like "uhh, I'm on holidays." and she was all "just making sure!" Just making sure that I'm still on holidays? Yeah, okay.

I have bought so much crafting stuff lately that I feel sick. I NEED TO PAY FOR RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED TEXTBOOKS. NOT PUNCHERS THAT MAKE THE CORNERS OF MY PAPER ROUND AND SCRAPBOOKING PAPER THAT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS RIPPED OFF AN OLD LADY'S COUCH.

Seriously though, that paper is bitchin'.

States and shark planes.

I spent the whole day cleaning.

I had set aside this day for studying for the impending International Law test I have tomorrow. But I don't have an International Law test tomorrow! Isn't that great?!

Nope.

No. Not at all. Because it was yesterday. When I got to class I threw up in my mouth and then proceeded to fail a university examination for the very first time.

I am date dyslexic.

Hrmm, what else.

I went to a party this weekend with peeps from work! I had a superz blast. I realized this morning though that I lost my necklace...

Lucky for me I took 200+ pictures so I can pretty much pinpoint the second it disappeared.

I've been feeling mucho inspiration from EVERYTHING around me. I've been painting, reading, sewing, writing, knitting, scrapping, drawing and just about everything else you can imagine that allows me to purge creatively.

I made pillow cases, want to see?
