Toronto terror plot foiled.

A group of Ontario residents were arrested yesterday. Apparently they were terrorists. How quaint. Twelve adults and five young people (young being 18 and under) were arrested after the RCMP found the makings for an explosive device.

"This group took steps to acquire three tons of ammonium nitrate and other components necessary to create explosive devices," said Royal Canadian Mounted Police Assistant Commissioner Mike McDonell in a statement.

To put this in perspective, that Oklahoma City bombing in 1995? It only used one ton, and that killed 168 people.

It has been confirmed that this group was "inspired" by the al Qaeda.

I felt the need to post this because people are always so sure that nothing bad can happen to Canada because we're so "nice". That is obviously not the case. Especially with this new resolve that Harper has for helping Bush in Afghanistan, Canada is a bigger target than it ever was.
